A true highlight was passing through the Panama Canal from the Atlantic to the Pacific side on Vijonara. The canal is an engineering masterpiece, opened in 1914 and operating flawlessly ever since. They can fill a lock, using only gravity, with about 300 million litres of water in eight minutes. The scale is mind-boggling, and I\u2019m happy we got to experience it.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

    From Panama, the crew sailed the yacht to Tahiti in three weeks, and we joined them there for our summer vacation.
