Today, almost 90% of recreational boats are built from GRP.
The GRP era in German boatbuilding began in 1963 with the series production of the Fähnrich and Hanseat models. Pioneers like Willy Dehler started with smaller dinghies — the Pfeil — and later the well-known Varianta.
My uncle Horst Mohrin and my father Otto Wahnschaffe began developing and building the first GRP motorboats in Germany in the early 1950s — long before the material was trusted, and long before the world caught up
